5 Of The Wildest Take Aways From Brooklyn Beckham’s Exposé

"The truth always comes out"

Brooklyn Beckham has issued a five page statement regarding his relationship with his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham – and it is wild.

There has long been rumblings of a feud among the Beckhams since Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot.

From the wedding dress to the 50th to Brooklyn’s apparent blocking of his family on social media, there’s been a lot to consider – and if you’re Brooklyn Beckham, even more to debunk.

Here’s the five biggest takeaways from his statement.

1. Wedding dress gate

A major player in the Beckham feud is Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wedding dress. The narrative has long been that Victoria offered to design Nicola a gown on her VB Label, and that Nicola eventually decided she would rather wear Valentino.

However, Brooklyn has said that Victoria decided she didn’t want to design a dress for her daughter-in-law “in the eleventh hour”, leaving Nicola with no choice but to look elsewhere.

He said: “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

Brooklyn added that his parents tried to “ruin” his wedding, and even “attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”

2. The wedding dance

Brooklyn said his mother also “hijacked” his first dance with his wife on his wedding day.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he said.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

3. David’s 50th

Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday, which took place in summer of last year.

Reports at the time suggested that the pair simply chose not to attend the party, but Brooklyn has now said that he and Nicola travelled to London to see David, only to be “rejected for a week.”

“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he said.

“When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.”

4. Past lovers

There has been much speculation around the presence of Kim Turnball at David Beckham’s birthday – a woman who Brooklyn was previously romantically linked to (although this has been denied by Turnball).

Turnball is now apparently dating Romeo, which is why she was at the party.

Although Brooklyn didn’t confirm or deny his relationship to Turnball, he did say that his mother “repeatedly invited” women from his past into their lives “in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable”.

5. Reconciliation

In his statement Brooklyn said that he does not “want to be reconciled with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders,” he said.

“Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.”

He added that he believes his parents are “protecting their own facade” and that the “truth always comes out.”
