All the lovely bits we've been up to this week!

It’s well and truly summer now as we approach mid June and here at STELLAR we are living for it. Summertime means festivals, sunshine (some days…), dresses, sandals and excuses to get out and about, because it’s all about making memories right? We are preparing for the release of our fabulous new issue very soon but our current one is still on shelves if you haven’t had a chance to snap it up yet, grab it while you can!

Since we are thriving this summer season we’ve loads to fill you in on from gorge events in the pipeline that we’ll make sure to fill you in on soon, to foodie hotspots for those summer evenings and beauty bits we cannot live without! Here’s a recap from the week of team STELLAR!

Denise is loving… The Dean, Cork

I headed down to The Dean hotel in Cork with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday, and sadly (for him) wave goodbye to his twenties. But let me tell you, what a place to celebrate in, The Dean in Cork is a dream spot.

We stayed in the James Suite – which is a fabulous treat for a fancy occasion or big celebration, as the hotel room is equipped with a Marshall amp for playing tunes, a gorge SMEG fridge stocked with beers and booze, and a snack bar with all the treats you need. The bedroom also has views of the city, plenty of space for luggage, a massive bathroom and a mega TV.

I also adored the gym and pool facilities, even if you’re not that big into the gym (re:me), having a little swim or chilling in the sauna is such a treat before dinner, and defo worth checking out at the hotel’s luxury Power Gym.

Jade is loving…Waitress at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

Hello, your resident theatre kid back again with a fabulous reccomendation if you’re looking for a musical to see this week. I had the pleasure of visiting the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre to see Waitress earlier this week and all I can say is WOW.

I had been wanting to see the show for a while, not knowing much about it except it’s based in a pie shop, and that in the theatre on Broadway they supposedly pump sweet smells into the lobby so you actually feel like you’re in a bakery plus, over there you can buy a pie to eat watching the show, how cool?!

So, when I heard the show was coming to Dublin I was very excited to get the opportunity to attend- No, they don’t sell pies in the lobby, but wow the show might have well been a broadway production. Chelsea Halfpenny played the lead and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when she sang She Used To Be Mine, I personally cried twice during the show.

Full of laugh out loud moments, likeable (and hateable) characters and emotions that’ll stick with you even after you leave. Even if you’ve never heard of this one, go to see it! You won’t regret the trip.

Denise is loving… the return of festivals

Lads, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been at a festival, so this summer I’m planning to head to them all (well, as much as I can squeeze in!) So far I’ve gone to AVA in Belfast, Forbidden Fruit in Dublin and next on the list, Body & Soul in Westmeath. Bring it on!

Jade is loving… a good blowdry

Theres little else that gives you the boss b*tch feeling that a good blowdry does. Over lockdown I binged Desperate Housewives for the first time and I couldn’t help but notice how glam they all were every day. A full bouncy blowdry to water their plants, or bake a scone or just play poker and have a gossip. When watching it I thought, imagine being the person who had a good hair day everyday, goals tbh.

So, when I had the oppertunity to head in to the Peter Mark College of Hairdressing for a ghd x PeterMark Styling Session I was thrilled!

The ghd helios professional hair dryer and their ghd curve soft curl tong did wonders on my locks thanks to my fab stylist, and I was ready to head to Wisteria Lane.

So, advice for anyone who needs a little bit of TLC? Get yourself a bouncy blowdry or some new hair products, you’ll feel like a brand new you!

Jade is loving… Mount Falcon Estate

Who doesn’t love a boujee weekend away? I spent my bank holiday weekend at the STUNNING Mount Falcon Estate in Mayo and it was everything I needed and more. With so much to do on site there’s barely a reason to leave the property ( swimming pool, Birds Of Prey, clay pigeon shooting and more!) once you arrive, unless it’s to visit the gorgeous beaches not too far away. We were blessed with the weather and enjoyed a three course dinner and music (and a dance later that night) in their outdoor tent on Saturday evening, which was so much fun.

We enjoyed the Birds Of Prey experience which was extremely interesting and something a bit different to do during the day. The grounds were fab to walk around and the house itself made me feel like I was in Bridgerton. Just what I needed to feel relaxed after a busy week, I’d 100% go back!
