A-ha! So This Is Why Eva Mendes Didn’t Accompany Ryan Gosling To The Oscars This Year

Cast your mind back to the Oscars last month and you might remember that Eva Mendes was noticeably absent from the ceremony.

Instead her hubby Ryan Gosling brought along his sister Mandi, who incidentally became a viral sensation, spurning hundreds of tweets about her gorgeous guna and dazzling personality on the night.

Still, as taken as the internet was with Mandi, countless fans questioned why Eva wasn’t there to accompany her husband on his big night.

Now, in a rare interview with Shape Magazine, Eva has answered that question, and as it turns out, she missed the big bash because she loves a night in just as much as the rest of us.

“What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,” Eva explained. “Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”

Ah! A girl after our own hearts. We like to think Eva spent the night in in her PJS watching live coverage of the awards, while eating snacks with her two daughters Esmeralda (two) and Amanda (11 months).
