It has been revealed that a Princess Diana musical is coming to Netflix very soon. The Princess, is well known for her impeccable style and as the 80’s and 90’s is certainly having a revival, her signature looks from the time provide some serious fashion inspo.

Instagram accounts like Lady Di Revenge Looks are so popular and the controversial Princess is certainly having a pop culture renaissance right now. This is also likely due to the horrific media attention she received before her death in 1997, and the similarities between how Meghan Markle is being treated now.

Whether you love or hate the royals, Diana: A New Musical  is sure to be entertaining. Initially it was supposed to open in March of this year on Broadway, but sadly due to Covid-19 restrictions this had to be postponed.

As theatres opening before the end of 2020 looks unlikely, the musical is now going to be filmed instead. The show will be recorded live in a theatre, without an audience and is set to have it’s premiere on streaming service, Netflix.

The producers of the show, speaking to the Guardian said; “We speak for the entire company when we say that we couldn’t be more excited to finally be able share our show with theatre lovers everywhere.”

“Though there is no substitute for the live theatre, we are honoured to be a part of the quality entertainment that Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide.”

Producers of the show have said it’s the tale of; “the most famous woman of the modern age as she struggles to endure a spotlight brighter than any the world had ever known.”

We’ll keep you posted as soon as a release date is announced. Until then you can always catch up on The Crown with seasons 1-3 all available on Netflix.
