Apparently This One Single Quality Makes A Guy Way More Attractive. What Do You Think?

No, it's not his incredible bone structure.

Hot Guy

Those of you who’ve ever been on a spectacularly awkward date will know that it’s usually caused by one thing: a lack of banter.

If you and your new match can’t spin a good yarn or find something in common to chat about, and are instead sitting opposite each other discussing the weather, then it stands to reason that you probably won’t be feeling particularly enamoured with the fella by the time said date is over.

Now new research confirms that being able to talk the talk when it comes to love, is actually super important. In fact, according to a recent study on heterosexual dating, storytelling was one of the most desirable qualities in a man.

The research, which was carried out at the University Of North Carolina, asked hundreds of undergrad students to read a collection of online dating profiles, some of which mentioned that the potential match tells a good tale.

The results found that women were more attracted to men who described themselves as good storytellers and would choose them as a potential long-term partner, over someone whose bio didn’t mention storytelling at all.

The researchers speculated that the preference was down to status, explaining that “storytelling ability reflects a man’s ability to gain resources. Good storytellers may be more likely to influence others or to gain positions of authority in society.”

We have to wonder though, do they seem more attractive simply because they’ll alleviate any first date jitters with their ability to tell a good tale? Maybe, but we have to admit, when it comes to seeing someone long term, we’re suckers for a guy who can make us laugh and keep us entertained.
