Are Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Hollywood’s New IT Couple?

Hollywood has a new IT couple coming in hot! Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been publicly dating since December of 2023 and announced their exciting engagement December of last year – and they’re only on the up and up.

Singer, songwriter, actress and entrepreneur Selena has been in the public eye since we first saw her on our TV screens as children in shows like Barney, Wizards of Wavery Place and Princess Protection Programme.

Since her Disney Channel days Selena has gone through trials and tribulations including an extremely public relationship and breakup, mental health and physical health issues such as a kidney transplant and a diagnosis of lupus, all while being one of the world’s largest popstars in the world.

In recent years we’ve seen her step back into acting with her roles in Only Murders In The Building and Emilia Pérez. In 2019, she took on her largest project to date establishing Rare Beauty, inspired by her third studio album, a cosmetics company that has a wide range of products and focuses on enhancing their customers natural beauty.

Rare Beauty has become one of the largest, most successful cosmetics companies in the world and after a lifelong career in the arts allowed Selena to become a billionaire.

Selena has been through the ringer throughout her career and has always been open and vulnerable with her fanbase so when the news broke she was happily engaged the world could not have been more delighted for her.

However, when the public heard the name Benny Blanco, there was confusion as many were not aware of who he was. Little did we know that he’s responsible for many of the greatest pop hits in the world and has been working in Hollywood for over a decade.

The 37 year old songwriter, record producer, executive and author began his career working alongside his mentor Dr. Luke before getting signed to his production company Kasz Money Productions.

Since then Benny has worked alongside the largest artists in the world such as Maroon Five on ‘Moves Like Jagger’, Katy Perry on ‘Teenage dream’, Ed Sheeran on ‘Perfect’, Rihanna on ‘Diamonds’ and many more. It’s no surprise the two have a lot in common.

Now that Benny and Selena have joined forces romantically the only obvious next step was to make a baby together, and by baby we mean album! The pair have been working on a collaborative studio album I Said I Love You First over the last few years which finally was released last week. The album contains twelve separate tracks and had previously released two singles from the album ‘Call Me When You Break Up’ featuring Gracie Abrams and ‘Sunset Blvd’.

We’ve seen a lot of the pair over the last few months promoting the new album to the press. They’ve made appearances on Fallon Tonight, Hot Ones and have released a video alongside Spotify on YouTube breaking down different parts of their album and relationship.

The duo have said that the album is an expression of themselves and allowed them to understand each other on a deeper level. The album explores themes and events from the present day and from their pasts, and challenges ideas such as self-love, insecurities, heartbreak and finding the right person for you.

The album already has three supporting music videos for the two singles previously mentioned and also for ‘Younger and Hotter’.

The music video has raised fans attention as the first few scenes shows the old set of Wizards of Waverly Place covered in tarps and includes a scene of Selena holding the wand she used while playing Alex Russo. The song and video explores feelings of self-depreciation and never feeling like you’re enough.

Not only is their music career blossoming but also their relationship. We can’t wait to see what this power couple has lined up for us in the future!
