Are The Spice Girls Making A Sequel To Their Iconic Spice World Movie?

We’re trying to remain calm here, but a new rumour this weekend has said that the Spice Girls may be considering a sequel to their iconic 90’s film, Spice World.

Next year will be the movie’s 25th anniversary so it would be the perfect time to revisit their short-lived acting careers and get back on board that tour bus!

A source, speaking with The Sun, shared that apparently the idea comes from Geri, or Ginger Spice, and that she already seemingly has Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton on board for the project.

The source also shared; “The girls have been talking about how to mark the film’s anniversary and are actively considering making a tongue-in-cheek sequel.”

“They have approached a screenwriter who is considering working on the project and making tentative steps forward.”

“It is still in the early stages but they are talking to established names in the business, which proves they are taking a big screen comeback seriously,” they added.

As we know, Spice Girls fans are still very much out there (us included) as the band performed a sell-out tour across the UK and Ireland back in 2019 across 13 dates. However, one member of the band was missing, and that was of course Victoria.

As Victoria, or Posh Spice, decided not to join the girls on their comeback tour, it’s not likely that she’ll rejoin them for a second film. With a popular clothing and beauty brand to focus on it’s doubtful she’d have the time.

For now it seems we’ll have to wait for further news on this project, but that does mean we could be due a re-watch of the 1997 film…
