Ariana Grande has made a point of saying she is super single, she even said she’s going to remain single for the entirety of 2019.

Despite this, the 25-year-old was spotted hanging out with her ex the same day she made the revelation.

The pop star was photographed walking with Ricky Alvarez in New York City on Tuesday, New Year’s Day. Here’s some footage posted to Ari’s Insta story taken during their reunion.

The exes had dated for about a year until summer 2016. They sparked rumours of a reconciliation last month after Ariana commented and complimented the dancer on an Instagram photo. She later wrote, “We’re friends everyone take a big ol breather.”

It looks like Ari and Ricky rekindled their friendship right around the release of “Thank U, Next”, when she showed him the song before its release.
