It’s been 20 years since Avril Lavigne’s debut album, “Let Go” hit the charts. So, what better way to mark the momentous occasion than being honoured with your very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ceremony was a full-circle moment for the princess of pop-punk who told Variety that she had visited the famed boulevard on her first trip to Los Angeles when she was just 16 years old.

Recalling her first encounter during her speech, she unveiled a photo of her younger self beside one of the famous stars saying, “So, I’m 16 years old and I’m on my first trip to Hollywood, and of course, I had to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame because it’s iconic.”

In the photo, she’s wearing a sweatshirt with the words “skateboarding is not a crime,” and in true Avril Lavigne style, she of course changed into the sweatshirt right then and there. Honestly, what an icon!!
