The ultimate pop icon collab has arrived. Queen Bey and the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna have teamed up for the latest rendition of  Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” track, titled “The Queens Remix”.

This comes just days after the star released a 4-track EP with more remixes of the song featuring Will.i.am, Honey Dijon, Terry Hunter and Nita Aviance.

“Break My Soul” was initially dropped in June as the lead single from Beyoncé’s newly-released seventh studio album Renaissance with acapella and instrumental versions having been shared over the last month.

The track features Bey riffing on Madonna’s 1990 genre classic “Vogue” where she sites a long list of her own influences.

Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, Bessie Smith, Nina Simone/ Betty Davis, Solange Knowles, Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl,” Beyoncé says, in the spoken-word style of the Madonna classic on the new remix. “Lauryn Hill, Roberta Flack Toni, Janet, Tierra Whack/ Missy, Diana, Grace Jones, Aretha, Anita, Grace Jones/ Helen Folasade Adu, Jilly from Philly, I love you, boo.”

Madonna also adds some memorable lyrics and bounce nuances from frequent Beyoncé collaborator Big Freedia in the background, as the singer goes on to add, “Michelle, Chloe, Halle, Aaliyah / Alicia, Whitney, RiRi, Nicki” to the roster.

Celebrities couldn’t contain their excitement at being mentioned with Lizzo sharing an array of tweets, one of which included a video reaction which she captioned it, “I always believed in me now Beyonce believes in me too.”

Tierra Whack also showed her support in an Instagram post saying “MY GOOD SIS @beyonce GON ALWAYS SHOW LOVE!”

While Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot and Kelly Rowland all took to their Instagram stories to shout out the newly released track. The latest remix also honours the ballroom culture that originally inspired Madonna’s “Vogue,” calling out the houses of Xtravaganza, Revlon, LaBeija, Amazon and more.

Renaissance marks Beyoncé’s first solo album in six years, having released Lemonade back in 2016.  So, for those who haven’t listened yet, we highly recommend you do!!
