Billboard ‘Thrilled’ To Announce The Winner Of Their Woman Of The Year Award

Every year, Billboard select one star to honour at the annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala. This year it will take place on 30th November, and they’ve chosen Selena Gomez as their winner. She takes the title from former Women the Year, including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Pink, and Madonna.

John Amato, president of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, said, “Not only is Selena soaring on the charts, but she continuously inspires young women everywhere to be authentic, give back and to not be afraid to use their voice.”

He added, “She is never afraid to speak her mind and has used her platform to advocate for the needs of others. We are thrilled to be able to honour her as our Woman of the Year.”

The 25-year-old took to Twitter last night to thank the organisation for the award, simply saying, “Thank you Billboard!”
