We are all familiar with Blake Lively thanks to her iconic roles like Serena Van Der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, or Emily in A Simple Favour. But after dominating on the silver screen, Blake has decided to step behind the camera and is set to direct her first film.
The 34-year-old has signed on for the film adaptation of the best selling graphic novel, Seconds by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Bryan is also the creator of the Scott Pilgrim series, which was also adapted into a successful film franchise.
The film will follow chef Katie Clay, who mysteriously develops the ability to change her past mistakes by writing them down in a notebook, eating mushrooms, and then going to sleep.
But eventually Katie’s habit causes trouble and threatens not only her life but also the entire world.
Blake has shared her love of cooking before so this sounds like the perfect film for her to start her directing career with.

While this marks her first time directing a film, it isn’t Blake’s directorial debut.
Back in November 2021, Blake direct her first ever project. Working on the music video for ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ by her close friend Taylor Swift.
Blake not only directed the video, but was also a co-writer and producer on the project.
Posting the announcement Taylor wrote, “I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut. Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell.”
So it seems Blake caught the directing bug…hey we’re not complaining.
