Brown Thomas and Arnotts announced yesterday that their online trading service is now temporarily closed.
Following the latest government lockdown guidelines, both stores owned by the Selfridges’ group felt it was in their best interest to follow instructions and close until further notice.
Releasing similar statements online, Brown Thomas said:
“If you have already placed an order, we will be in touch in the next day or two to let you know what’s happening.
“Don’t worry, we are not going anywhere. While we may not be able to take orders, we will continue to share some great ideas, keep you up to date on the latest trends, and try our best to keep you entertained along the way.
In the meantime, keep safe and healthy.”

But they’re not the only stores to close their online offering. Both Next and River Island have also announced that they’re ceasing all services as of now.
Closing their distribution centre in order to protect their staff and their families, River Island said:
“As a business driven by the love of fashion, we don’t say this often but some things are just more important.”

River Island also reassured customers that they’d be back in “full glory” very shortly and until then will keep you informed over on their Insta channel.
In the meantime, a lot of retailers and brands are still operating online deliveries and so, make sure you check their website and social channels (I always find Insta is best) to get the latest information on shipping before you place an order!
