Busy Philipps Says James Franco Physically Assaulted Her During Freaks And Geeks Filming
The two actors worked together on the 1999 comedy TV series.
Busy Philipps has let us all know that she is not a fan of her former co-star James Franco, labelling him as a “fucking bully”.
The two actors worked together on the 1999 TV series Freaks and Geeks where Busy played Kim Kelly, the girlfriend of James’ character Daniel Desario.
In her book, This Will Only Hurt A Little, Busy recalls being instructed to lightly hit James in the chest for a scene on the show. James then broke character and attacked her, she alleges.
“He grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, ‘DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!’” Busy writes in her book. “And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.”
“Immediately, I could feel the wet hot stinging of tears, but I tried like hell to suck them back in.”
James then stormed off, Busy says, and apologised the next day after being ordered to by the director and producers. However, he was never punished for his behaviour.

Busy said James was a bully during the year they filmed the comedy show.
“It felt like over the summer he had read Easy Riders, Raging Bull or something and had decided that the only way to be taken seriously was to be a fucking prick,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time Busy has spoken about James’ alleged behaviour. During her 2016 appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, she said the two “really, really disliked each other,” and elaborated on his behaviour.
“He felt like he wanted his character to be one way. He had had a discussion with the producers that he came from an abused family or something, and so he didn’t want his girlfriend — I played his girlfriend — to ever physically hit him,” Busy said.
Busy’s comments come after James was accused of sexual misconduct by five women earlier this year.
In her book, Busy also wrote: “I don’t need to tell you this, but James is a fucking movie star. He was horrible to me, yes, but he’s also gorgeous and charming as hell. That’s where the manipulation lives.”
