People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive 2021’ is often the topic of many discussions, and now, our very own Paul Mescal has been officially nominated.

The list itself is broken into numerous categories, in which Paul has been nominated in the ‘sexiest eyes’ category.

In the category, Paul will be up against Oscar Isaac, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Dempsey and Hasan Minhaj.

Other categories include the sexiest smile, sexiest new dad, and the brand new category ‘sexiest vaccine selfie’.

Previous winners of People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive 2021’ include Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Idris Elba, Blake Shelton, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, David Beckham and more.

But if you’re looking to give Paul a good creep on the ‘gram in light of his new nomination, you’re not in luck. As the star deleted his Insta earlier this year.

His now deactivated account had over one million followers but that wasn’t enough for him to keep it as a source, speaking with The Sun, has revealed that he felt he was getting ‘sucked in’ to the app.

The source revealed that as well as ‘wanting to keep his feet on the ground’ he deactivated his account because ‘it just became a drain.’

‘He felt like he was wasting time on there, reading the comments is no good for anyone’s mental health. There are more important things going on in his life and he wants to focus his energy on his personal life and his work, he doesn’t need social media for that.

‘He’s a private guy and doesn’t feel the need to share everything online. But Paul knows it does mean he won’t be able to cash in on lucrative offers for massive brand tie-ins.’

Well look, we don’t blame him, but that doesn’t mean we don’t miss our casual (hourly) scroll on his page.

Here’s hoping our Maynooth man takes home the title. Fingers crossed.
