Caroline Flack Has Hit Back At Jameela Jamil For Criticising Love Island’s Lack Of Cast Diversity

Caroline Flack is preparing to hit our screens again next week for one of the most highly anticipated shows of the summer – that’s right, Love Island is back.

The hit show returns for another season of laughs, love and memes with a whole new set of Islanders set to descend on the villa, but host Caroline is busy defending the show before it even starts.

Producers came in for criticism from many last week when the cast of this year’s show was revealed, due to the apparant lack of a diverse body shape among the lads and ladies.

And of course, no body/size/weight debate can be complete without the gas Jameel Jamil giving her two cents, and tbh we have to agree with her this time.

The actress and body positivity advocate tweeted her disgust at LI producers telling Glamour Magazine that they have a “huge range of personalities and people, hoping there’s someone in there for everyone.”

Since then, host Flack has responded to the star, saying there’s more to the show than what she sees before it even begins.

“I wonder if she’s actually watched it, because it isn’t about what you see on face value,” the 39-year-old told The Sun.

“I’m a massive fan of Jameela and what she stands for,” she added.

Mental health and body positivity has been a huge talking point around the show in the past two seasons, following the sad and tragic deaths of former contestants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.

What do you think of the new cast!?
