Catch Up: All The Best Bits From Last Night’s ‘One World Together At Home’

The online concert was set dedicated to all health-workers around the globe on the frontlines fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last night saw many of our favourite performers come together for a virtual concert. ‘One World Together At Home’ saw the likes of Billie Eilish, Elton John, Lizzo, The Killers, Taylor Swift and so many more perform live from their homes.

The brain child of none other than Lady GaGa, the online gig was dedicated to all health-workers around the globe on the frontlines fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was also in partnership with the World Health Organisation, Global Citizen and supports the U.N Foundation’s Covid-19 Response Fund.

With such an impressive array of performers it was an incredible show, one you wouldn’t even get at the best festival, and the best bit was getting to watch it in your pyjamas at home.

Both Michelle Obama and Oprah joined the livestream with positive and uplifting words for those at home and staying safe, as well as the brave healthcare workers helping us to fight this virus. Oprah always seems to know the right thing to say as she shared a powerful message for those watching at home;

“In every country, in every continent we have seen such phenomenal acts of courage from people on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus.”

If you missed it last night, it’s all still available to watch online, here are some of our highlights from the show.

Lady GaGa performed a beautiful and emotional rendition of ‘Smile’ in classic quirky, jazzy GaGa style.

Taylor Swift was introduced by Jimmy Kimmel as she sang a song from her latest album. ‘Soon You’ll Get Better’ was already an emotional song about Taylor’s mother, but seemed even more poignant as she sang last night.

Lizzo showed off her soulful side as she sang last night, watch it, it will give you goosebumps.

David and Victoria Beckham introduced their close friend Elton John as he aptly performed ‘I’m Still Standing.’

Sam Smith and John Legend showed off their incredible voices as they sang a duet to ‘Stand by Me.’

Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabelleo sang ‘What a Wonderful World’ and we don’t know what’s better, how incredible they sound together or the chemistry between the pair.

Niall Horan also joined the livestream to perform an acoustic version of, ‘Black and White’ from his latest album.

Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas performed an incredible version of Bobby Hebb’s ‘Sunny.’

If you want to watch the entire concert in full, it’s available online, or it’s also on RTE 2 tonight at 7pm.
