She’s on everyone’s playlist, in everyone’s earholes and at just the sweet age of 18, Billie Eilish is only getting started.

However, as she landed on the scene with no formal introduction, blowing up quicker than imaginable, here’s all you need to know about one of the world’s biggest stars.

She used to be in a choir

Singing pretty much since she came out of the womb, Billie previously told Vogue that she was a member of the Los Angeles Children’s choir, where she developed her vocal skills. “I’ve just always sung, all the time. I sang so much that my family had to shush me,” she said.

Her full name has got a lot going on

Billie’s official full name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell. Yeah, quite a mouthful!

She’s of Irish descent 

As you might have guessed from Billie’s surname (O’Connell), she is actually from Irish and Scottish descent. Her Mam comes from a Scottish background while her Dad is of Irish descent. Failte, Billie!

She is open about having Tourettes Syndrome

As Billie became more famous, fans and followers began to notice physical ticks related to Tourette Syndrome. Being the queen that she is however Billie decided to open up about her disorder, talking on the Ellen Degeneres Show she said: “I think I also really learned that a lot of my fans have it, which made me feel kind of more at home with saying it, and also I felt like there was a connection there.”

She’s obsessed with The Office

Billie has not been shy about her obsession with hit American tv show The Office. She loves it so much that she even took samples from the episode “Threat Level Midnight” and included them in her song My Strange Addiction.

Billie gets music inspiration from unlikely places

The Beatles, Avril Lavigne, A$ap Rocky and Drake are just a few artists Billie has said influence her music. The reason for the random combination? She grew up in a house where everyone had different music tastes, so she listened to everything from R&B to pop-rock.

She’s a triple threat

Not only can Billie sing, she can also act and dance. Taking dance lessons in her early teenage years, Billie had always hoping to make a career in showbiz.

She was homeschooled

Billie and her brothers were homeschooled by their mam, Maggie. Learning from home meant that creativity was a big part of her curriculum.

She has a pet spider

Billie does not seem to have the same fears that many of us do. As you can see from her ‘You should see me in a crown’ music video, creepy crawlies does not make Billie squirm as they would you or me. Talking about her pet tarantula in an interview, she even invited a fan over to meet it! “I have a pet tarantula. You should come over and see him. He’s blue, and he’s very cute. They’re fun. They’re not gonna hurt you. They’re cool. They have personalities.” Whatever floats your boat, Billie.
