Britney is officially engaged, and it’s safe to say we couldn’t be happier for her. But if you haven’t been keeping up with the star and her socials, you might be like.. who’s the beau?

1. He’s a personal trainer

Sam is an absolute exercise fanatic, and his Instagram is full of gym selfies and workout tips. So, when deciding on a career path, he followed his passion and became a personal trainer. He established Asghari Fitness, which offers personalised training plans and diet advice. One of his and Britney’s favourite things to do together is working out and hitting the gym. We can’t relate, but hey if they enjoy it.

2. He was in Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home music video

If you think Sam looks familiar, you probably recognise him from Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home music video. The song was a smash hit in 2016, and we were all pretty obsessed.

Sam has done a number of modelling gigs and starred in a few music videos. That’s actually how he met Brit. Sam was a part of her music video for Slumber Party, and they hit it off while on set. He told Men’s Health about their first time meeting, explaining, “She said, ‘Hi, I’m Britney,’ and I said, ‘I’m sorry. What’s your name again?'” he said. “I tried to be funny. I don’t think anybody got it.”

3. The lion is a significant symbol to him

A quick scroll through Sam’s Instagram, and you’ll notice he often refers to the animal in his posts. Typically, he refers to the animal’s strength and courage, so perhaps that’s what he admires about lions. They feature prominently in his real life as well. His nickname for Britney is Lioness, which he even got engraved on her engagement ring.

4. He was born in Iran

Sam was born in Tehran, Iran, and was the youngest of four children. His father immigrated to Los Angeles when he was just 12 years old. He told Men’s Health, “I had to leave my friends and family who I was very close with, and I knew I was moving away and never coming back.”

However, he has stayed connected with his culture and seems very proud to be Iranian. He has even taught Brit a few phrases in Farsi.

5. He has a great sense of humour

What can we say, the man is multitalented. He has made appearances in Black Monday, Hacks, The Family Business, and Can You Keep a Secret.

Brit even said she believes he should be in The Fast and The Furious films.

She took to Instagram to say, “Not only has this cute a**hole been with me through the hardest years of my life but he happens to be an extremely good cook, Fast & Furious franchise, don’t miss out on your next star.”
