Not many Love Island couples survive the real world after their time in the villa, but we can imagine that quarantining apart doesn’t help the situation much. Particularly if the relationship is in the early stages, according to Ched Uzor who was coupled up with Jess Gale in the winter season of Love Island.

The couple spent weeks together in the Love Island villa, before quarantining apart shortly after leaving the villa. Ched spoke on Secure The Insecure podcast, opening up about his relationship with Jess, “We came out [of Love Island], as you can imagine we had interviews together up and down. We were in London, we were in Manchester. So I spent two weeks with her.”

He continued, “Then I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down. So she was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really.”

“We voice note every day. It’s just harder. Obviously, when you haven’t seen somebody you feel like you are not as close.”

On whether he and Jess will try to make it work in the future, Ched said, “I feel like its just something we need to discuss when lockdown is over. Right now we just talk every day about random topics. I wouldn’t say we really have romantic conversations.”

“I like Jess. I would say we are just talking and seeing each other and seeing how things go. We are not in a relationship though. We will see how things go. If it works out it works out. But at the moment we are not doing everything you want to be doing to build into a relationship.”

Well, it sounds like a pretty sticky situation alright. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, eh?
