Chris Hughes Shares Support For Ex Jessy Nelson As She Leaves Little Mix

Although they parted ways in March of this year, Chris Hughes and Jesy Nelson still remain on good terms with one another, as Chris has proved once again this week.

Yesterday, Monday the 14th, Jesy announced her official departure from girl group Little Mix, something that wasn’t a huge shock to many people as Jesy has been notably absent from all of the girl’s recent TV appearances. Sharing the sad news that she was leaving the band after 9 years, Jesy posted an emotional statement to her social media which read:

“After much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix”

“I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group living up to expectations very hard”

“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that progress.”

Underneath the statement, many friends and fans shared their well-wishes with Jesy as she embarks on her new journey, one of note being her ex – Love Island star Chris Hughes.

Chris and Jesy parted ways in March of this year after 16 months of dating. The two have moved on and are now dating different people, Jesy with actor Sean Sagar and Chris with model Mary Bedford.

Although the news of Jesy’s departure is a sad one for fans of the band, the group have ensured ‘mixers’ that the 3 remaining members aren’t going anywhere just yet.

In a statement released on their official page they said:

“After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.”

“We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.”
