Miley Cyrus Reveals She Felt ‘Villainized’ For Moving On With Kaitlynn Carter After Liam Hemsworth Split

The Wrecking Ball star also recently split from Cody Simpson after 10 months of dating.

Miley Cyrus got candid in a recent interview for podcast Call Her Daddy; speaking about her sex life, dating history and the troubles of moving on with someone new when you’re under the scrutiny of the public eye. Miley opened up about all and held nothing back.

Speaking about how difficult it was to go through previous splits, the former Disney Channel star paid particular attention to her marriage split from Liam Hemsworth,

Revealing that she lost her virginity to Liam at aged 16, Miley went on to speak about the pair’s relationship throughout the years,

‘The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time in my life.

“I love who I am so much right now if any of those things hadn’t happened I’m not sure that I would be the same person,” Miley explained on the podcast.

But after splitting in August 2019, Miley went on to quickly date Kaitlynn Carter soon after. As Kaitlynn had equally just split from her partner, Brody Jenner, sibling to Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Miley revealed that it was difficult for either of them to get away from all the “cheating” rumours.

As Miley and Kaitlynn decided to have a very public relationship, getting papped in PDA moments, the relationship didn’t last long, and the pair succumbed to the media scrutiny.

“I feel like as a woman I was villainized for moving on and I really feel like that isn’t acceptable,” explained Miley.

And as the podcast was recorded earlier this week, Miley’s recent split from Cody Simpson hadn’t happened yet, but the pair dated for 10 months, starting in October 2019 and moving in together during lockdown, before calling it quits on Thursday.

Sharing the news on an Instagram live, Miley said that she’s taking control of the narrative herself. Saying that she and Cody are “working on” themselves, she said they would still continue to hang out.

“So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up,” she said.

“A year ago, almost to this exact date, the media tried to tell my story for me, and control my narrative, and I’m just not accepting that.”

Fair play, Miley. You can listen to her recent podcast here.
