Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are officially done – in case you didn’t hear.

It was confirmed this week that after 19 years of marriage, Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30th due to “irreconcilable differences.”

It was reported by TMZ that the Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning country singer have been living apart since the beginning of summer and officially petitioned to end the marriage in a Nashville court this Tuesday.

PEOPLE Magazine reported that Kidman feels “very betrayed” by her marriage of 19 years coming to an end, and that she did not feel supported by her husband when it came to work.

“[Nicole is] truly thrived working again. She’s been feeling amazing and very happy about having a career again,” the source said.

“Now when they are older, [Sunday and Faith] love seeing their mom work. They are very supportive of their mom… [for Keith] it’s been the opposite.

“Keith was used to her being supportive of his career. He’s not been as supportive as she hoped.”

The pair have two teenage daughters, in which Kidman will be the primary residential parent for 306 days per year, with Urban given custody of the children for 59 days a year.

In a recent filing that disclosed the couple’s individual monthly income, it was stated neither will require childcare or spousal support in the current plan agreement and that the marital dissolution plan will entail an equal division of the common assets.

Sources say that the couple’s busy schedules had a part to play in the separation, with either Kidman filming or Urban on tour. Many insiders believed that the couple’s lives were moving in different directions and that the split had become inevitable.

Over the years, the couple have publicly discussed their marital difficulties and have expressed how they pushed through those challenging moments together, particularly Kidman, who fought to keep the marriage intact and was initially opposed to splitting up.

“We were living on a farm,”Kidman said at the time, “and that’s when my mother said, ‘I wouldn’t give up completely. Keep a finger sort of in it.’ And I’m like, ‘No, no. I’m done now. I’m done.’

“She’s going, ‘Just listen to me. Keep moving forward. Not saying that you have to do it to the level you’ve been doing it, but I wouldn’t give it up completely.’ ”

The couple’s last public appearance was June 20th, in which they attended the FIFA club world cup in Nashville. Just five days later, Kidman took to Instagram to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary with a photo of the pair and the caption: “Happy Anniversary Baby” in which Urban commented a heart emoji.

Over the summer there were indications of a rocky relationship between the couple. Although the split may seem sudden to fans, those close to the couple said it was a long time coming.
