No, Andrew Garfield’s Witch Girlfriend Didn’t Cast a Spell On Him

Andrew Garfield is dating a witch.

Yes, you read that correctly. The 40-year-old actor has been dating 42-year-old self-proclaimed witch Dr. Kate Tomas over the past few months. 

Kate refers to herself as a professional witch, mentor, artist and philosopher on her TikTok profile. She has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Theology from the University of Oxford and a best-selling book called Chakra Crystals. 

Andrew and Kate were first seen in March this year while food shopping in L.A. A few days later, they were photographed on a double date with Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham in Malibu. 

To be a fly on the wall at that meal.

After the news of their relationship went public, many people criticised Kate’s appearance and suggested that her magic skills helped her seduce a high-profile actor like Andrew Garfield. 

In an interview published by The Sunday Times on July 21, Kate spoke about the backlash she has received.

“It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man.”

She also commented on paparazzi photos that have come out of her and suggested that the worst ones of her are the ones that get published. This has increased the criticism she has received online about her looks.

Last month, she spoke on her podcast My Friday Emails about learning to not care about what people think of her, most likely in reference to the hate she has received since beginning to date Andrew.

“I truly am able to sit anchored in myself and know that random people do not know me. I don’t care for their opinion. It impacts me in no way what their opinion of me is. I could not have said that six months ago. It was something that I was working on consistently.”

Along with her consulting and mentorship work that has attracted some famous faces, Kate is known for hosting a very popular masterclass in seduction. This is what has led many people online to assume that she seduced Andrew with magic.

She referenced the allegations on one of her podcast episodes and said that she had to put her seduction masterclass on hold after “horrific accusations that were levelled at me that I’d used magic to seduce my partner.”

In June, she posted a TikTok about how seduction has nothing to do with manipulation.

Despite the backlash, the four-time divorcée and The Social Network star are seemingly going steady. They stepped out together at the Wimbledon men’s final on July 14 and were seen sitting near actors Tom Hiddleston and Pierce Brosnan.

This is not the first time Andrew Garfield has made headlines for his romantic relationships.

His most high-profile relationship was with The Amazing Spider-Man co-star Emma Stone, whom he dated for 3 years between 2012 and 2015. 

He was linked to singer and actress Rita Ora in 2018. The following year, he had a brief relationship with Irish comedian and actress Aisling Bea.

Regardless of it all, we wish Andrew and Kate a magical love story.
