The scandal has taken over the Internet and led to many theories about whether it is an actual cheating scandal or a PR stunt to promote Central Cee and Ice Spice’s new song.

Background Information

Speculation that Madeline Argy and Central Cee were dating began in July 2022. The pair have had an on-and-off relationship over the last two years, and chatter of Central Cee cheating on Madeline has been rife during that time. 

They went through a more significant breakup last summer but were back together towards the end of the year. Madeline confirmed they had rekindled by posting a TikTok of her attending a Chelsea match with Central Cee. He even bought her a Mercedes for Christmas.

Central Cee and Ice Spice Collaborate

In early July 2024, videos of Central Cee and Ice Spice shopping together in London circulated on social media. They were also seen at a hookah lounge together.

Madeline and Central Cee were supposedly still together at the time.

On July 10, Central Cee and Ice Spice released a new song called Did It First.

The song is about cheating, and in a bizarre move, Central Cee exposes himself as a cheater with the lyrics: “Gyal on my phone trying to see who I slept with/ She investigating, detective/ Lucky for me I deleted the message.”

That’s probably one of the most out-of-pocket ways a man has exposed that he’s cheated on his girlfriend.

In the music video, Ice Spice can be seen twerking on Central Cee, which had fans even more suspicious that Central Cee was cheating on Madeline.

Madeline Responds

Two days after the song and music video for Did It First came out, Madeline responded by posting a four-part series on her TikTok, breaking down her side of the story.

In her first video, she jokes that it was all PR in a sarcastic tone. However, in the second video, she clarifies that it is not PR, and she was unaware that all this would happen.

Madeline explains that Central Cee had played her Did It First a few months prior and that his verse had her suspicious he was cheating on her. Central Cee would tell her it was marketing, and Madeline decided to forget about it.

A few weeks later, Central Cee hired influencer Leah Halton to lip-sync to one of his older songs. He told Madeline he was sending her a car because Leah asked for one, but Madeline soon realised he had sent his personal car to start a dating rumour with her.

Madeline says that she and Central Cee had a trip to Nigeria planned two days after Leah Halton posted the lip-syncing video in his car. While Madeline was catching on to Central Cee’s marketing scheme, she agreed to go to Nigeria as long as no photos of them came out. 

Well, photos of them did get released.

Madeline decided that she wanted to break up with him. However, he said he was only available on July 1, several weeks after their Nigeria trip. That night, they spoke on the phone, but Madeline didn’t even get a chance to break up with him. She said it was the last time they spoke.

The next day, he was seen shopping with Ice Spice.

On July 6, the day before Madeline’s birthday, Central Cee and Ice Spice were seen at the club.

Madeline said that his team had reached out afterwards so they could speak, but she declined.

Once Did It First came out, Madeline felt it was time to post her side of the story on TikTok. The four videos have currently over 186 million views combined.

Absolutely insane.

PR Move or Cheating Scandal?

Many people following the saga have questioned whether Madeline and Central Cee’s breakup is real or if she’s a part of his PR scheme to promote his new song.  

Madeline, on the most recent episode of her podcast Pretty Lonesome, referred to herself as “a pawn in his PR stunt” and she cancelled all her birthday plans and was at home for days after seeing all the videos of Central Cee with Ice Spice.

While it is seemingly all PR from Central Cee’s side, he lost his relationship with Madeline in the process, which may not have been his original intention.

All we can say is that we stand by Madeline and hope she comes out stronger and better from this betrayal.
