Cheryl Just Took A Pretty Extreme Measure To Stop Those Pregnancy Rumours Flying

Whether or not Cheryl Fernandez-Versini-Cole-Tweedy is pregnant, we reckon the intense furore surrounding her status must be getting pretty tiresome for her by now.

Rumours that the singer might be expecting a child with One Direction’s Liam Payne have been building in earnest over the past few weeks. It didn’t help that Cheryl seemed to be on social media lockdown throughout August and September, and had refrained from any public appearances since showing face at Liam’s sister’s wedding in June.

After Cheryl stepped out in Paris for Fashion Week over the weekend, the speculation began again in earnest. Was that a bump under her black lace jumpsuit? Or did she just eat a big dinner? WHO KNOWS? Whatever’s going on, the singer took a pretty clear step to shut down the constant commentary: cutting off comments on her Instagram posts.

While comments on older posts are still visible, Cheryl’s last three posts are protected. Coincidence? Hardly.

Of course, Cheryl’s not the only famous face to have availed of Instagram’s no-comment option for verified users: Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen are just some of the celebrities who have switched the feature on since it was rolled out in August.

As for Cheryl’s rumoured baby-daddy Liam Payne, comments on his posts are still enabled, but we have a feeling it won’t be long before he follows his girlfriend’s lead.

Cheryl and Liam have been openly dating since early February, just four weeks after Cheryl’s split from her husband of two years, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, was confirmed.
