Chrissy Teigen Reveals She Didn’t Know She Was Pregnant Before Having Major Surgery

"We prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay."

The world seriously needed some happy news recently, so we were super excited after hearing that Chrissy Teigen and her husband, John Legend were expecting baby number three.

Chrissy has shared that this means she was pregnant when she had her breast reduction last month and she shared the story with her followers on Twitter. This major surgery is not something you would have if you are expecting, but the routine test Chrissy took before the procedure came back negative; “I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative.”

“A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I’ve taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before.”

With their previous children, Luna and Miles, the couple had IVF to conceive. As Chrissy struggled to get pregnant naturally she revealed that she has always taken a pregnancy test every month, just in case.

“So the morning of John’s album release, he wakes up at 3am to do good morning america. I woke up with him and was like man, should take my monthly test to be disappointed.”

“I was not disappointed.”

Amazingly, baby number three was conceived totally naturally and without any help from fertility experts or IVF intervention. However the potential complications after surgery did make the couple nervous; “I was scared s**tless. Was pretty positive you shouldn’t get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure.”

“So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just felt…bad.”

Thankfully, everything is ok with the pregnancy and the couple are thrilled with the news.

The news came as a total surprise to fans and followers of the two, as they announced it in the sweetest way possible.

Releasing the music video for his new single ‘Wild’ yesterday, John let the world know of their newest arrival.

The super romantic video ended with Chrissy, John, and their two children standing together on the beach as a foursome, with Chrissy putting her hand under her stomach to reveal her small bump.

Announcing the news on her own social media shortly afterward, Chrissy gave us a glimpse at her baby bump up close, and no, we’re not crying, you are.

Speaking in the video she says:

“What is this third baby s**t. What the… Oh my god”
