It’s safe to say that Cillian Murphy isn’t spending his Saturday nights watching Instagram Stories raging that he didn’t go out with his pals.
While FOMO, Fear Of Missing Out, has been in the lexicon for years now, the Cork man has invented his own version.
And to be honest, we’re kind of obsessed.
Cillian is currently promoting his upcoming film, Steve, which will hit Netflix later this year.

During one interview talk quickly turned to his Oscar winning performance in Oppenheimer which was directed by legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan.
The English man is currently working on an adaptation of The Odyssey starring Matt Damon. While Cillian has worked with Christopher several times in the past, he is absent from the Greek epic.
Speaking to Variety, he admitted that he wasn’t upset about missing out on working with Christopher for a seventh time.
“‘No, I have ROMO: Relief Of Missing Out,” he joked.

He went on to say: “No I can’t wait to see it. If any director in the world could tackle The Odyssey, it’s got to be Christopher Nolan.
“I’m so excited to see it. I mean he’s one-in-a-million, he’s been a huge part of my life as an actor and I just can’t wait to see what he does with it.”
The Greek epic by Homer tells the story of Odysseus and his 20-year journey home after the Trojan War with his trip being blocked by storms, gods and goddesses and terrifying mythological creatures.
The film also stars Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal.
The Odyssey hits cinemas in July 2026.
