Rumours have swirled that Cillian Murphy will be playing Voldemort in the upcoming reboot of the Harry Potter films.
A new TV series based on the best-selling wizardry books is set to be released next year.
The cast is fairly star-studded and one name that has been attached for several months is our very own Cillian Murphy.
Ralph Fiennes, who originated the villainous role in the films, previously hinted that the Cork man had secured the role.

In a viral TikTok posted by Let’s Talk Film in January, Ralph said: “I’m told [my shoes] are already filled, aren’t they? I think Cillian Murphy is very good. A very good choice.”
However, now Cillian has set the record straight.
He denied any involvement in the HBO Max series.
Speaking to The Times, he simply said: “I’m categorically not. Can you make that the headline?”

Well, that’s that!
The adult cast of the upcoming series stars John Lithgow, Nick Frost, Paul Whitehouse, Johnny Flynn, Warwick Davis and Paapa Essiedu.
The Golden Trio has been cast by newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton.
The series has already been shrouded in controversy due to JK Rowling’s anti-transgender views on social media in recent years.
HBO Max confirmed the new show will air in early 2027.
