Short answer: yes
The festive period may be over, but we’re into another very exciting time. Award season!

She couldn’t hide her delight as she accepted her award in California.
During her speech, she thanked her director, saying: “Chloe Zhao, you have reminded me of the power of telling a story and the journey that you can go on to touch the deepest parts of what it is to be alive, thank you.”
She then gushed about her co-star, Paul Mescal, enthusing: “I bloody love you, man. And I know loads of other women do in this room too, but tough s**t.
“I could drink you like water working with you every single day. You’re a giant of the heart and thank you so much for making me a little bit more human.”

She also urged her fellow nominees to keep creating work to inspire other women.
Jessie has been receiving serious praise for her role in the film, which is a fictionalised retelling of the death of Shakespeare’s son Hamnet, and how this event influenced the writing of his renowned play, Hamlet.
The film, directed by Zhao, is based on the novel of the same name by Maggie O’Farrell, and is set to release in Ireland this week.
Other winners in the film categories included Timothรฉe Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein and Amy Madigan for Weapons.
Jessie’s early awards season win begs the question as to whether she will pick up other major awards this year.
Oscar, anyone?
