Could We Be Getting A Third Mamma Mia Film? Amanda Seyfried Hopes So!

Mamma Mia, here we go again…AGAIN (we had to)

Listen at this point the Mamma Mia franchise is more than just films. It’s a bona fide cultural pillar. And we were lucky to get two movies but…is it possible we might be blessed enough to get a third?

Well nothing is official yet, but leading lady Amanda Seyfried thinks they should take a chance, take a chance, take a chance on another film.

Amanda is dying to reprise her role as Sophie and thinks ABBA’s new music is reason enough for a third film. Telling Variety, “The plot doesn’t even matter at this point. ABBA has got new songs, throw them in there, get the cast together again.”

But the good news doesn’t end there, as The Dropout star believe Meryl Streep would return as Donna for a new film. Saying, “Meryl will absolutely come back for the entirety of it… or else.”

While it would absolutely be a treat for fans, Amanda confessed the cast has their own motivations for wanting another installment.

Explaining; “”Listen, it’s very indulgent for us,”

“We just want to go back to Greece and dance around, and then people will love that. So we would be doing a service to ourselves and to the fans.”

But considering there was a 10 year gap between Mamma Mia and the second installment Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, it might be a while before a hypothetical third film would be released.

Until then we’ll just have to scream ABBA songs at the top of our lungs while we wait.
