Drag Race Star Chi Chi DeVayne Reveals She May Have Suspected Kidney Failure

Chi Chi DeVayne rose to fame when she competed in RuPaul Drag Race’s eighth season and the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. Now, her fellow Drag Race stars have been sending their support to Chi Chi after she revealed she was in hospital with suspected kidney failure.

Chi Chi shared a series of posts on her Instagram stories a few nights ago to say she was undergoing tests. Laughing, she joked that she looks “like s**t” before going on to update her followers. “They got my blood pressure down and all of that good stuff,” Chi Chi explained. “But today they have to do three hours of dialysis to see if they can get my kidneys back functioning.

“If you don’t know, I’ve got scleroderma and it affects everything in your body like heart, lung, kidneys everything and I let it go too long without going to the doctor, and these are the consequences. Take care of your body.”

Chi Chi’s fellow Drag Race stars were quick to send their support, with Cheryl Hole tweeting, “Let’s all join together and help our sister Chi Chi. If you can’t afford to donate, please send her well wishes and support during this time! WE LOVE YOU CHI CHI.”


While Trixie Mattel, a previous All Stars winner, wrote “I don’t believe in much but ALL the love and healing energy to Chi Chi DeVayne! Flawless, stunning, and we need her back on the stripper pole in top form!”
