Dua also spoke to T Magazine where she revealed she plans to pivot from her iconic disco sound  but still remain in the pop genre with some “1970’s era psychedelia” inspirations , as she doesn’t want to “alienate” her fans.

The pop singer also noted that her third record will be “more personal,” but fans shouldn’t expect Easter eggs that other pop stars have been adding to their work – hi Taylor, we’re talking to you.

She said: “I think it’s a marketing tool: How confessional can you be? I also don’t put so much of my life out there for people to dig into the music in this weird, analytical way.”

After the release of her second album, Future Nostalgia, Dua worked with the Blessed Madonna for Club Future Nostalgia, a remix album that featured guest appearances from Missy Elliott, Madonna and Mark Ronson to name a few.

She’s since collaborated with the major stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Calvin Harris, and Elton John, and has even launched both a podcast and a “cultural concierge” newsletter.

Most recently, the singer appeared as mermaid Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s summer blockbuster. She released a brand new single Dance the Night as part of the Barbie soundtrack.
