Announcing he was a transgender man in December 2020, a new chapter has begun for Elliot Page, admitting that this experience has allowed him to recognise himself.

Explaining that for him it was important to come out publicly, Elliot added that he “100%” knew since he was a toddler that he was transgender and so, has found the past few months a total release and chance to be himself, fully.

Answering the “hard” question of what has been most joy sparking moment since coming out as trans, Elliot confessed:

“Getting out of the shower and the towel’s around your waist and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and you’re just like, ‘There I am.’ And I’m not having the moment where I’m panicked,” he said, before breaking down in tears. “It’s being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body for the — probably the first time.”

Explaining that puberty was “total hell”, Elliot added that getting top surgery was very important for him along his journey, telling Time Magazine earlier this year that it “has completely transformed my life.”

Elliot’s interview is slated for release in the coming weeks on Apple TV, as part of new series “The Oprah Conversation”.

Breaking the news that he was transgender with the world in December 2020, Elliot wrote on Instagram at the time:

“I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.

“I love that I am trans, and I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.”

We love to hear it and we cannot wait to watch his first TV interview this summer.
