Everyone’s Saying The Same Thing About Justin Timberlake Playing The Super Bowl Next Year

And it's not good.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake has announced that he’ll headline the Super Bowl half-time show in February, fourteen years after he last performed the gig, but the people of Twitter aren’t too impressed.

The singer made the announcement on the Jimmy Fallon show last night, saying, “I DO have the time, I do half time!” Before Jimmy yelled, “You’re doing the halftime show at the Super Bowl?!”

Back in 2004, the Rock Your Body singer was performing on the world famous stage when he infamously ripped off part of Janet Jackson’s costume, briefly exposing her bare breast. The accident, which occurred on live TV, caused huge outrage and Janet was banned from the Grammy Awards that same year as a result. It was also rumoured that she’d been banned from ever performing at the halftime show again.

Fans are furious that Justin has been allowed back, and have been voicing their thoughts on Twitter. “If Janet Jackson can’t ever perform at the Super Bowl again then Justin Timberlake shouldn’t be able to either,” one person said.

Another wrote, “Unless Justin Timberlake starts his set by introducing Janet Jackson with an apology and then continues watching quietly while she does 12 minutes of her catalog solo, the Super Bowl can keep this halftime show.” Check out some of the other responses below:
