A brand new television series based on the blockbuster film saga is coming to our tv screens.

More than a decade following the conclusion of the film adaptation of the Twilight Saga, a tv series based on Stephanie Meyer’s now four-part series is in the works.  The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Lionsgate will be producing the series, which is now in early development.

Due to the project being in its early days no network has been confirmed to have picked up the show, also meaning we won’t know a release date for quite a while.

Good news though, it seems Stephanie Meyer is expected to be on board with the project.

This news comes nearly 15 years after the first instalment of the book-to-movie adaptations came on the scene in 2008.

They starred Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

The first instalment was followed by four sequels, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn: Part One and Breaking Dawn: Part Two.

The fourth and final film made its debut in cinemas in 2012 just four years after the original movie.

This news comes nearly six years after the CEO of Lionsgate hinted there would be more to the Twilight Saga.

In an interview with Variety he said: “There are a lot more stories to be told, and we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories.”

Sadly it seems we will have to wait to see the Twilight saga make its debut on a streaming platform. Guess we will just have to get our fix from the books and movies circa. 2008.
