Everything We Learned From The Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy Trailer

Leo Woodall, the man that you are

Universal Pictures

The trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy has landed – and it’s safe to say, we’re excited.

The fourth film in the Bridget Jones series is coming next year, and all of our favs are returning.

Some of them may not be alive, but they’re returning all the same, okay?

Mad About The Boy, based on the Helen Fielding novel of the same name, sees Bridget navigating life and love in the (now) modern age.

Expect much hi-jinx, sex, and Bridget getting stuck up a tree.

Here’s everything we learned from the trailer.

Universal Pictures

1. Mark Darcy is dead

Right away, we’re alerted to the tragic news that Mark Darcy passed away four years ago.

But never fear, Colin Firth is still in the movie… via flashback or as a ghost. It’s hard to tell.

2. Leo Woodall – that’s all

One Day’s Leo Woodall is taking on the role of Bridget’s new love interest this time… and he’s a mere 29 years old. Good for her!

His character is also called Roxster, for some reason.

3. Bridget has two children now

The end of Bridget Jones’ Baby saw Bridget gave birth to Mr Darcy’s baby, before his tragic and untimely death.

Now, Bridget has two children, who likely both belong to Darcy.

Universal Pictures

4. Daniel Cleaver is back!

Just as Jesus rose on the third day, Daniel Cleaver is back from the dead! … But he doesn’t seem to be up to a whole lot.

Hugh Grant is returning for the fourth instalment of the franchise, and he seems to be taking on a sort of friend role.

Good for him.

5. Chiwetel Ejiofor is also there

It wouldn’t be Bridget Jones without a love triangle, and Ejiofor plays a man who is involved in just that.

Mr Wallaker is a teacher at Bridget children’s school, and he and Bridget share a couple of touching moments amidst the uncertainty of her dwindling sex life.

6. Bridget is on Tinder now

A likely place for her to be.

7. Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy lands next February

On Galentine’s Day, naturally (Valentine’s Day in Ireland).
