EYNTK About Jessie Buckley & Paul Mescal’s New Film

They're at it again!

Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal Pic: Andres Poveda

Jessie Buckley picked up her first Oscar award this year for her role in Hamnet.

She, of course, appeared in the devastating film alongside Paul Mescal.

They had gorgeous chemistry off and on screen, with Jessie saying that she could “drink [him] like water”, during one of her acceptance speeches.

So it makes sense that they would want to collaborate together again.

They will star in the “impossible love story” Hold on to Your Angels.

The film is set in South Louisiana, so expect interesting accents from these two!

According to Deadline, Paul will play a “hell-bound outlaw” while Jessie is set to star as a “ferocious shepherd of lost souls”.

The film comes from Beasts of the Southern Wild writer-director Benh Zeitlin.

Paul Mescal

“Hold on to Your Angels is the most impossible love story I’ve ever witnessed – an outlaw romance for the end of America, set on the crumbling edge of South Louisiana,” he said.

“I’ve been dreaming of telling it since its hero, Pam Harper, walked into an audition for Beasts of the Southern Wild 17 years ago.

“It’s a love letter to an endangered way of life – and a rallying cry for empathy across a fractured planet.”

The movie is due to start filming in February.
