Jennifer Lopez has been popping up on the radar more and more frequently these days, most recently for her rekindled romance with actor Ben Affleck, who she is engaged to for the second time – have you seen that ring?!

And now she’s got another big event on the horizon, the release of a brand new documentary with Netflix all about her long lasting stardom.

‘Halftime’ is set to offer an ‘intimate peek behind the curtain’, letting us in on how JLo has managed to stay afloat in the industry and maintain such a powerful status in pop culture. The film will take a closer look at some of her iconic performances like the 2021 presidential inauguration.

The name of the film, ‘Halftime’ is actually a nod to Jen’s performance at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, which she performed alongside Shakira, with it going on to be the most popular halftime show in history.

There will also be some more personal elements to the film, like how JLo juggles motherhood alongside her busy, glamorous lifestyle, and what it was like making her voice heard in the industry as a Latina woman.

The documentary is set to open the Tribeca Film Festival on the 8th of June in Upper Manhattan, close to where JLo grew up in the Bronx. Robert De Niro, who’s a cofounder of the festival, spoke highly of the film, saying, ‘Powerful storytelling…encourages us to fight for universal values that bind humanity together.’ Okay, wow!

We’ll have to hold on a little longer to see it ourselves, as it won’t be released on Netflix until the 14th of June. We’re buzzing!
