EYNTK About The White Lotus Season 3

The White Lotus is a series that grabbed the world by storm.

The hilarious, tension filled drama had us all on the edge of our seats for the first two seasons – and dancing along to the iconic theme song!

But when will we get the third instalment of the series, and what can we expect from it?

When is it coming out?

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait a while before we get our next glamorous stay at The White Lotus hotel.

Just yesterday, according to Popsugar, HBO and Max executive Casey Bloy revealed that the show likely won’t land until 2025.

This is namely due to the WGA and SAGAFTRA strikes currently taking place.

We’ll wait for you, White Lotus!

What’s it about? 

As for what the plot will revolve around, show-runner Mike White is interested in the theme of death.

In an ‘unpacking’ episode that was attached to finale of season 2, Mike discussed what he has in mind.

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex…I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality,” he revealed, adding “It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”

Where is it set?

There’s been a few hints about where the setting might be this time around, including Mike’s mention of exploring “Eastern religion”.

Last year, while chatting to Deadline, Mike further fuelled theories the series will happen in Asia.

“I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun,” he admitted.

Interestingly, earlier this year Jackass star Johnny Knoxville seemed to give something away about the show.

Chatting to Vulture, Johnny revealed that he’s a good friend of Mikes, and that they had recently “been in Tokyo together.”

He continued, “I think that’s where the next…Oh, I’m not giving anything away!”

Is it possible The White Lotus Season 3 will be set in Japan?! It’s hard to say, especially considering Johnny’s infamous humour – it could just have been a joke.

Who’s in the cast?

The cast for the next season has been kept tightly under wraps, and we know that the show often makes use of previously unknown actors to really immerse us in their world.

Still, there’s often a few well known faces attached to the project, and we’ll hopefully get some insight with a teaser trailer some time next year.

What we do know, is that in a surprising twist statement, the character of Belinda Lindsey will be appearing in season 3.

Belinda was the spa manager in season 1, played by Natasha Rothwell.

In April, Natasha’s representatives confirmed to Variety that she would be reappearing. Random!

As for any other updates on season three of White Lotus – we’re sadly in the dark, but we’re keeping a close eye…
