Fancy Yourself As The Next Posh? The Spice Girls Are Recruiting A New Member
Our seven-year-old selves are DYING with excitement.
Wannabe, Two Become One, Who Do You Think You Are, Say You’ll Be There… Just hearing those song titles will transport most twenty-somethings back to the Spice Girls heyday of the mid-Nineties.
If you knew – and still know, let’s face it – most of the fivesome’s lyrics off by heart, then we might have a career opportunity for you.
After confirming this summer that they’d be returning as a trio, Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton are now looking for a new member to complete their group. And according to new reports today, they plan on recruiting via a BBC reality show set to air next year.
According to Mail Online, the Spice Girls’ management has approached the BBC about replicating the success of talent search shows like Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria.
The proposed show would take place over five consecutive nights next April, with a live televised final to decide the winner, who would then join Ginger, Scary and Baby at Hyde Park in July for the band’s 21st anniversary gig.
Time to get practicing.
