Faye Winter Opens Up About ‘Stigma’ She Felt After Love Island

"I wanted to do the break-up a lot sooner..."

If you’ve watched Love Island, you’ll know Faye Winter.

The TV personality was a big deal on the seventh series of the show, and made it to the final with boyfriend at the time Teddy Soares.

While on the show, Faye was known for her fiery personality and emotional outbursts.

One particular argument she got into with Teddy caused uproar, with many claiming Faye was displaying emotionally abusive behaviour.

And now the influencer is getting candid about how the way she was depicted affected her, and her relationship, after the show.

While on the Taboo Talk with Boots podcast, Faye told Vogue Williams and Una Healy about the backlash on social media while she was in the villa, and how difficult it was trying not to upset anybody afterward.

“I’ve not been myself on social media for a year because everything I do, everything I say, I feel like gets back to (that scene).

Faye continued to explain that she knew her and Teddy’s relationship needed to end sooner than it did, but found it tough knowing how the public might react.

“Looking back, however bad the heartbreak was, I wanted to do the break-up a lot sooner, and I was too scared of the public’s opinion because of how I was perceived on [Love Island] in one certain scene. I couldn’t do it.”

“The stigma…was terrible.”

However, despite a tough few years, Faye feels she’s finally doing okay.

“Do you know what, I’m actually really happy with my life, with my dog at home and people around me that love me,” she confessed, adding, “so I actually don’t need justification from these people on social media.”
