Friends Star James Michael Tyler’s Manager Has Shared An Update On His Cancer Battle

"Lately, he's been having amazing days"

Yesterday, the sad news was shared that Friends star James Michael Tyler was battling stage 4 cancer.

The 59-year-old was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2018 and has been fighting it since, which has now since spread. Jame’s manager, Toni Benson has shared some hopeful news about the star, saying that despite the odds, he is doing ‘amazing’.

“Lately he’s been having amazing days. He’s done his second round of chemo and so far he is doing really well. And he’s hopeful it will be effective”

“I don’t think he’s going anywhere for a long time,” Toni added.

James is best known for his role as Gunther in the beloved sitcom Friends. Gunther played a big part in the Friends dynamics, so much so that he was the only character who wasn’t a part of the famous six to make the most appearances in the sitcom. James stayed with the show for its full 10 years on air, appearing in 148 of 236 episodes.

Toni added that James is dedicated to raising awareness for prostate cancer through his journey, “besides his wife, his main focus is changing people’s lives”.

“It’s so important to be checked and he wants to spread the word. He’s feeling very positive.”
