We didn’t see this one coming, but we don’t hate it!

Gemma Collins has put herself forward to be James Corden’s successor once he leaves his spot on American late-night television.

The TOWIE star has told METRO UK that she is heading to Hollywood and is the obvious choice to replace James, “I’m going to have to move into Dolly Parton’s mansion, plot up in America and replace James Corden on The Late Late Show. It’s gonna happen – I am the best person to fill his boots now that he’s leaving America.

“He’s done a lot of theatre work as well, if you look at his career, we kind of started out the same way. So yeah, Hollywood baby! It’s happening, it’s happening, it’s happening! Let’s cosmic order it up!”

We think the GC would be hilarious as the new host and would only love to see her interacting with A-Listers.

James Corden announced that he will be stepping down from hosting the late-night talk show The Late Late Show last week.

His shock departure was announced during the show, where in an emotional speech he said:

“It’s been a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show.”

He revealed that this would be his final year presenting the show, but that he has big plans for what’s to come.

James has said the reason that he will be leaving in a year’s time, sharing that for him, taking over the talk show in 2015 from former host Craig Ferguson was always a temporary thing for him. The 43-year-old says that the show was always part of his journey and not the end, hinting that there are other projects out there for him.

“When I started this journey, it was always going to be just that. It was going to be a journey, an adventure. I never saw it as my final destination, you know?” he explained.

“And I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way. I always want to love making it. And I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there.”

With Gemma about to star in a UK tour of Chicago, she very well could be following in his tv/theatre/ talk show host footsteps, watch this space!
