Geordie Shore’s Scotty T Flew A One-Night Stand From N. Ireland To England For An Abortion
'I dealt with it properly and respectfully.'
Ireland’s Abortion Rights campaign has an unlikely spokesperson in the form of Geordie Shore’s Scotty T.
His new tell-all autobiography contains tales of the “almost one thousand women” he claims to have slept with, including one story of a Northern Irish woman whose abortion he funded after the pair slept together.
Speaking to The Sun ahead of the release of A Shore Thing, Scotty explained that the woman in question phoned him to tell him she was pregnant and had decided to terminate the pregnancy.
Abortion is technically legal in Northern Ireland – unlike the Republic of Ireland – but only in very strict circumstances, meaning the majority of women wishing to obtain an abortion still need to travel overseas. With that in mind, Scotty says he arranged to fly the woman over to his hometown of Newcastle to have the procedure there.
“She said she had felt that it was only right to let me know that she was pregnant and that she wasn’t gonna go through with it,” Scotty told Dan Wootton of the phone call. “Forgive me for saying it, but the sudden relief I experienced when she said that she wasn’t planning on keeping the baby was overwhelming, cos I knew for sure that I wasn’t ready to be a dad. I had enough trouble looking after myself, never mind a mini Scotty T. F***ing hell.”
He added that the clinic in Newcastle, where he accompanied the woman, took care of things “quickly and sensitively” and that he was happy to have “closed the door on that episode once and for all.”
Ever the eloquent speaker, the reality star said it was the first time such an incident had happened “despite the amounts of f***y I’ve had.”
For more misogynistic dramatic tales, you’ll have to pick up a copy of the book.
