Let’s face it, we could all do with a haircut at this stage of lockdown. But Jedward are going that one step further by shaving each other’s hair off to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Irish Cancer Society.
Yes, they’re saying goodbye to their signature quiffs (for now), when they join Ryan Tubridy on this week’s The Late Late Show.
In a video posted to Twitter, the singing duo broke the news by saying:
“We are shaving our quiffs off to support the fighting heroes going through cancer. We’re hopeful the funds raised will contribute to a cancer free future.”

Continuing, they added that they’re doing it to honour those who have come and gone, “we are sending strength and love to all those suffering. Don’t give up!”
As no strangers to cancer, the twins lost their mother Susanna back in February 2019 after a long batter with cancer. Having been diagnosed with leukaemia and suffering kidney failure.
“It’s heart-breaking that all our loved ones aren’t with us, but they will be looking down on us from heaven,” the pair added.
You can watch John and Edward Grimes this weekend on The Late Late Show, Friday evening, RTÉ One at 9:35pm.
