Grease Fans Rejoice! Spin Off Series Of The Iconic Film Titled ’Rydell High’ Is In Production

Grease is most definitely up there with iconic movies that we are all guilty of watching time and time again.

And if you are as big a fan of the film as we are, then you will be delighted to hear that the iconic flick is getting it’s very own spin-off show.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the musical series, entitled ‘Rydell High’ has been given a series order at HBO’s streaming service, HBO max.

Sarah Aubrey, her of original content at HBO Max gave us a little taster of what we can expect from the series in a recent statement:

“This is high school and life in small-town USA told on the scale of a big rock & roll musical. It’s ‘Grease 2.0’ but with the same spirit, energy, and excitement you immediately think of when you hear any of these iconic songs. ‘You’re the One That I Want!’” she said, but we are excited none the less.

Word on the street is that storylines will cover subjects such as peer pressure, puberty, and life in middle America. Kind of sounds like the American version of Byker Grove to us *shrugs*.

More details are yet to be released at a later date, as producers are still deciding on a writer, episode count, and premiere date.
