If you have yet to hear about the Hilaria Baldwin drama circulating on social media, let us catch you up. Hilaria, wife of Alec Baldwin has been accused of ‘faking’ her Spanish accent for the past ten years.

A Twitter thread appeared this week that took a deep dive into all the reasons why her accent couldn’t be real and TBH, we can’t get enough of it.

The gist of it is that apparently Hilaria has often said she was born in Spain and that her mother is Spanish. This thread disputes that as she was born in America, and also shows a video of her mother speaking very clearly with an American accent.

Hilaria has often been filmed speaking with a heavy Spanish accent and then, at times, without it at all which is very confusing. Some claim that by doing so she is ‘taking up space’ for real Latino women in the public eye.

Her husband, Alec Baldwin has since come out in defence of his wife  saying; “We live in a world now where we’re hidden behind the anonymity of social media. People feel that they can say anything.”
