Last week, Molly-Mae Hague celebrated her 21st birthday at her flat in Manchester with her boyfriend, Tommy Fury.
Surprising her with a wreath of gifts, Tommy also left the Love Islander a note that revealed the pair would be joined by a puppy in a few days time.
Calling him Mr Chai, Molly-Mae shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a photo of the pup’s new LV carry case plus a bag of dog feed and the cute little note.
Just days later, the pair welcomed the dog into their home, even making an Instagram page for the adorable pup who gained a large following straight away thanks to his famous mom and dad.
But now, Molly-Mae Hague has shared her sadness, revealing that unfortunately, after just six days in their lives, Mr Chai has sadly passed away.
In a lengthy statement, Molly-Mae wrote:
“Tommy and I are utterly heartboken and shocked to even be writing this. Our beautiful new puppy Mr Chai was taken ill in the last few days and tragically has passed away….”
Continuing, she added:
“We are really hoping that we can get some clearer answers in the coming days whilst we wait for details and more information from the veterinary experts. Myself and Tommy are completely in shock and truly devastated.”
Molly-Mae, who has been supporting and taking part in Blackout Tuesday yesterday also noted that she’s aware there’s “far far greater issues that this” but that the couple just needed to “share this information in order to start the process of trying to accept and overcome this awful situation…”
Molly-Mae and Tommy came under fire last week after they revealed that their puppy was coming from Russia. Getting the dog off a breeder in the UK called Tiffany Puppies who sells on luxury puppies, many fans were angry that the pair didn’t opt to stay local and choose a rescue dog from one of the many adoption centres around Manchester.
