Here Are The Rules The Parents Have To Follow When Entering The Villa

It’s nearly time for the meet the parents episode and while we are patiently waiting to see this year’s families make their way into the villa, a former Love Island parent has opened up about the rules they must follow while visiting the contestants.

2019 Love Island star Belle Hassan’s father, actor, Tamer Hassan has shared some insider secrets about heading into the villa.

According to The Sun, he said, “It’s the last week and that can be a real game changer in the show.

“So you’re banned from social media and you are not allowed to tell anyone if you are going into the villa or not. It might give the game away.”

He also revealed that you’re not supposed to talk to any other islanders except your son/daughter and their partner, but Tamer said, “As I was leaving I had a little bit of banter with the boys on the way out – I could tell they were excited to meet me so I couldn’t say no.

“Evidently they were fans of my films.”

Speaking of the filming on the day Tamer said, “Filming felt like a lifetime because it was baking hot. It felt like two or three hours but it was about an hour.

“We were all soaking wet.”

It turns out the parents are directed by what some former Islanders call the ‘voice of god’, the producers over an intercom, “They say over the Tannoy, ‘Can Belle’s parents move to the pool area’ and tell you what to do over the speakers,” he explained.

But the long hot filming day isn’t the only thing the parents get to experience, Tamer said they all bonded at their hotel.

“Production told us other parents were staying in the hotel so we went down to the pool and started introducing ourselves. I bought everyone drinks and made sure they got merry. Then we all went for dinner – it was a great group of lovely people.

“I’m not good with strangers so it was a great way to get to know everyone. All the wives were chatting away while the dads just chilled out.  It was like a Love Island party within Love Island,” that sounds like a lot of fun tbh…

The producers also used to give him a heads up when the episode was going to be particularly raunchy, every parent would appreciate this tip!

Many will be wondering if Gemma Owen’s dad Michael Owen will be heading in this time around, but it seems like he has shut that down.

“My wife will do that duty. I’ll represent the horses and she’ll represent the daughter,” he told Sky Sports, but as Tamer said, they can’t exactly say if they are going in, so there could be hope!
